This device gives a dose of the drug epinephrine. It treats anaphylaxis. That's a serious allergic reaction that may cause your lips, tongue or throat to swell. You may have trouble breathing. You may pass out. Using an auto-injector at the start of anaphylaxis can save your life.

This prescription drug (sold under brand names such as Levothroid®, Levo-T®, Levoxyl®, Synthroid®, Tirosint® and Unithroid®) treats hypothyroidism. That's a condition where your thyroid gland doesn't make enough thyroid hormone. We also use this drug during treatment for thyroid cancer. Levothyroxine belongs to a class of drugs we call "hormones."
